RECRUITMENT AND PROCESS OF RECRUITMENT

MEANING OF RECRUITMENT:

Recruitment is the process of finding and attracting capable applicant for employment. In simple words, find the job seekers for thier need relating job is called the recruitment.

DEFINITION:

According to Flippo,” Recruitment is the process of searching for prospective employees and stimulating and encouraging them to apply for jobs in an organization.”

In other words,  Recruitment is the development and maintenance of capable manpower resources. It involves the creation of a pool of available labor upon whom the organization can depend on when it needs more employees.

A recruiting program helpful for a firm in four ways:

  • Attract highly qualify and competent people.
  • Ensure that the candidate which selected stay longer in the organization.
  • Make sure that there is a match between cost and benefit.
  • Also, help the firm create the more culturally diverse workforce

RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

  1. Personal Planning: It begins when the personnel department receives a demand for recruitment for any department of the company. It includes the all job vacancies, details about the position to be filled, number of persons required, duties of persons and also the time by which the persons should be available for an appointment etc.
  2. Locating and development: Locating and developing the sources of the required number and types of employees.
  3. Developing techniques: Developing the techniques to attract candidates. The goodwill of an organization in the market may be the one technique. In other words, the publicity of the company is a good employer may also help in stimulating candidates to apply.
  4. Apply techniques: Employing techniques to attract candidates as well as attractive salaries, proper facilities for development etc.
  5. Apply for jobs: In this step, the process is to stimulate as many candidates as possible and ask them to apply for jobs. In order to increase the selection ratio, there is a need to attract more candidates.
  6. Evaluation: In this last step the effectiveness of the recruitment process is evaluate in it.
